Pampering
Tips:
- Visit a salon and have your hair cut and deep conditioned.
Having your hair colored or highlighted is controversial. I
am a hairstylist and am exposed to the chemicals everyday,
as well as my friends, who have all had healthy babies. If
you are concerned, consult your doctor. You might want to consider
an all natural haircolor, or one that is low in ammonia.
- Have a facial. Your skin needs extra pampering right now.
Be sure and tell your esthetician that you are pregnant. There
are certain chemicals you may want to avoid that are in some
skincare treatments.
- Get a pedicure! Especially in the last trimester when it
gets harder to touch your toes.
- Get your eyebrows, legs and/or bikini waxed!
- If you are pregnant - get a pregnancy massage. Make sure
your massage therapist is certified in pregnancy massage. You
want to avoid certain essential oils when you are pregnant,
because they can bring on contractions.
Massage therapy enhances the
function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general
body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.Read
more about pregnancy massage here.
- Buy a pregnancy pillow. It supports your knees and your belly.
Boppy makes a great one that I love. You can buy it at Drugstore.com.

EXERCISES-
Always check with your doctor
before doing any exercises while pregnant.
REMEMBER: Don't overdo it. Don't overheat yourself.
What I'm doing right now:
- Walking - Always a good bet. Even if it's not that
far. Try to walk everyday.
- Prenatal
Pilates DVD - This DVD has exercises for EVERY
trimester. Great DVD. I love it.
