"a baby story", pregnancy
journals, baby books, websites,
and pregnancy/parenting magazines tend to illustrate
the happy couple experiencing their pregnancy and
birth together - going through your pregnancy
and birth experience without a partner, can leave
you feeling isolated. This is why I decided to
create this website. This website and online community
is geared for women who find themselves alone
during pregnancy and after the birth of their child.Whether
it's by choice or by circumstances beyond our control,
( a loss of a partner due to breakups, death or separated
by distance) we all have one thing in common- we are single
and pregnant or single mothers, and looking
for information and support on bringing up healthy,
well-adjusted children. We are also
looking for others who are going through this situation,
to get us through the experience with grace, compassion
and new found strength.. I hope this website and online
community helps you along the way.
I
am now the proud single mother of a little boy, Jackson,
born in December of 2005. I have learned alot since
starting this website in the summer of 2005 and I
hope to impart some of that wisdom to women who are
just now finding out they are in the same boat.
Less than 48 hours after
packing my bags and leaving a doomed relationship,
I found out I was pregnant. The father of my child
did not want to be involved and was seeing another
woman when I left him. I never thought I'd be in
this situation. Scared
of going it alone, I have found out that there is
little support and information out there for women
choosing to raise our babies without the father,
and how to deal with the prospect of experiencing
pregnancy, birth and child rearing alone.
I hope that by providing
this site for women like you and I, it will provide much
needed information, guidance and support to you and yours.
